For organizations that need flexible access to Parent Coaching without building an internal program, families can be referred directly to ConnectionPlus and matched with an experienced parent coach.

License the ConnectionPlus Model
For organizations serving enough families to support an internal program, licensing may be the more cost-effective long-term strategy. Your organization can develop its own licensed parent coaches while building sustainable capacity within your existing team.

Phase 1
Train
Build the knowledge and skills needed to implement the ConnectionPlus Parent Coaching Model through comprehensive initial training. Licensed coaches receive access to ConnectionPlus training materials and curriculum.
Phase 2
Implement
Bring the ConnectionPlus Parent Coaching Model into your organization with access to custom-created curriculum and a resource library to support your work with caregivers, families, and your broader team.
Supervise
Receive ongoing support as coaches develop their practice. Licensed coaches participate in a minimum of two supervision meetings each month during the supervision phase, with continued evaluation to support quality and model fidelity.
Certify
Coaches are evaluated following initial training and throughout the certification process. Continued participation and final certification are based on meeting ConnectionPlus supervision, participation, and performance standards.

Coaches should hold an active trauma-informed certification, provide direct services to families, and remain employed by their organization throughout the certification process. A master’s degree in social work or a related field, along with relevant professional experience and experience with foster and/or adoptive children and families, is recommended.

Licensing allows your organization to train and certify its own professionals to provide individualized parent coaching using the ConnectionPlus model. Licensed organizations receive access to our coaching framework, curriculum, practical tools, and resource library, along with ongoing supervision and support from ConnectionPlus.
The model is designed for organizations that work directly with foster, kinship, adoptive, or reunifying families and want to build sustainable parent coaching capacity within their own team. The strongest partners are committed to trauma-responsive care, ongoing supervision, model fidelity, and measuring outcomes for the families they serve.
Participants must be employed by the licensing organization, work directly with foster, kinship, or adoptive families, and hold an active trauma-informed certification. A master’s degree in social work or a related field, relevant professional experience, and professional or lived experience with foster or adoptive families are recommended. ConnectionPlus reviews and approves each participant before enrollment.
Licensing takes place in two phases. Phase 1 provides comprehensive initial training in the ConnectionPlus Parent Coaching Model. In Phase 2, coaches begin implementing the model with licensed access to ConnectionPlus curriculum and resources while participating in ongoing supervision, evaluation, and certification development.
Licensed coaches participate in a minimum of two supervision meetings each month during the supervision phase. ConnectionPlus provides continued guidance, case consultation, and evaluation to help coaches strengthen their practice while supporting quality and model fidelity.
Licensed coaches receive ongoing access to ConnectionPlus training materials, custom-created curriculum, and an extensive resource library. These materials can support direct parent coaching as well as training for staff, volunteers, board members, caregivers, children, and families served by the licensing organization, within the terms of the licensing agreement.
Coaches are formally evaluated following initial training and quarterly thereafter for a minimum of 12 months. Continued participation and final certification depend on meeting ConnectionPlus supervision, participation, and performance standards. Completion of training alone does not guarantee certification.
Organizations are required to administer a set of pre- and post-intervention assessments with families served through the model. De-identified, aggregate data is shared with ConnectionPlus to evaluate outcomes, strengthen implementation, and support the model’s continued improvement. The licensing organization is responsible for the cost of the required assessment instruments.
